so about that apartment..

I guess I decided to take it. I made up this little story that is making it ok for me to take it - that it most likely had nothing to do with me being American, but it was simply a misunderstanding between the broker and the landlord about price. At least, that’s how I’m choosing to look at this. Pure fantasy? Um, yeah. But here’s the deal - I really really love this apartment. And I really really don’t want to be in the one that I’ve been living in for the past three months. I can’t have people over, and it just doesn’t feel like home. It feels like a hotel suite.

So anyway, here’s a shot I’d taken a while ago of the area my apartment is in - it’s right across the street from the Golden Gate and in a neighborhood I really

and it’s like 10 minutes’ walk closer to the office, which will be great for the winter, when my view will look like this:gg_winter.jpg

except, you know, from the third floor. Anyway, I’m pretty happy, and tomorrow I’m going to go over there with a friend of mine to tell the landlord what I want kept in the flat and what I’d like them to take out. There’s a room totally full of furniture, so I’m hoping some of it is pretty good. My friend who is going with me thought the other day she saw something good in that room, and she has a really good eye, so I’m lucky she’s coming along. Photos of the new digs tomorrow!
